Jaipur M.O. (1975-1988; restarted 2002): To fill the gap between the existing magnetic observatories Alibag and Sabhawala (operated by Survey of India). Jaipur observatory along with Ujjain was established in collaboration with IZMIRAN (USSR) under 145o geomagnetic meridian project to have a network of observatories from magnetic equator to magnetic pole and in understanding global Sq current system. Data quality from JAI confirms the INTERMAGNET standard and is now an INTERMAGNET Observatory.
